Armidale Regional Council is seeking Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to register their interest in exciting School-Based Traineeship opportunities funded under the Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant.
This initiative supports Aboriginal people to access employment and career development pathways, contributing to Closing the Gap.
Traineeship Roles Available
Successful applicants will undertake a School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) while completing their Higher School Certificate. Positions available include:
* School-Based Civil Construction Trainee Study: Certificate II in Civil Construction
* School-Based Airport Officer Trainee Study: Certificate II Aviation (Ground Operations and Services)
* School-Based Customer Service Trainee Study: Certificate III in Business Services
* School-Based Parks Trainee Study: Certificate II in Horticulture
* School Based Information Technology Trainee Study: Certificate III in Information Technology.
Gain valuable on-the-job experience while completing your studies, receive nationally recognised qualifications, and build a strong foundation for future employment in your chosen field.
To be considered, applicants must:
* We are looking for people who embody Council's values—wellbeing, inclusion, commitment, and transparency—and who inspire and support others to do the same.
* Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, be accepted by that community, and be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
Be enrolled in school, working towards the Higher School Certificate, and committed to completing both your studies and traineeship.
