Our client is a prestigious global law firm with a newly created mandate for a Working Capital Manager.
This is a senior finance leadership role responsible for managing and improving the firm's working capital across WIP, billing, collections, debt, and trust accounts.
The position leads a team of specialists and acts as a trusted adviser to Partners and senior lawyers, ensuring financial discipline, compliance, and profitability in client matter delivery.
Key focus areas:
* Business partnering: Build strong relationships with Partners and lawyers, provide commercial advice, and resolve matter and billing issues.
* Commercial support: Oversee matter economics, rates, profitability analysis, and escalation of financial risks; promote use of commercial tools and training.
* Working capital management: Lead reviews on billing, fees, WIP, and debt; assess provisions under IFRS 15; drive collections and set monthly targets.
* Controls and leadership: Ensure compliance with firm policies and regulations, strengthen internal controls, and develop a high‐performing working capital team.
Key requirements:
* Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACA or equivalent).
* Significant post‐qualification experience in working capital, billing, or commercial finance, ideally within a partnership or professional services setting.
* Proven leadership and team management skills.
* Strong commercial acumen, communication, and technical proficiency with tools like Power BI.
* Excellent judgement, organisation, and resilience in a fast‐paced environment.
