Think marine traffic control for ships. Our teams guide large vessels smoothly and safely through some of Australia's busiest port channels. With around 100 dedicated staff, Ports Victoria operates in a highly regulated maritime safety environment, underpinning Victoria's economy and global trade connections.

The opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join Ports Victoria and play a key role in lifting organisational performance, workforce capability and workplace culture.
Partnering closely with senior leaders and the Head of People and Culture, you’ll provide trusted, practical advice and deliver contemporary people solutions that support the organisation’s strategic priorities. This is a true hands-on HR business partnering role with both strategic and operational impact.
What you’ll do
* Act as a trusted advisor to leaders across people, culture and workforce matters
* Deliver end-to-end generalist HR support across workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management and wellbeing
* Provide high-quality employee and industrial relations advice, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industrial instruments and public sector requirements
* Support leaders to build capable, engaged and accountable teams
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen culture, capability and systems
* Build strong working relationships across the organisation to foster a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace
What you’ll bring
* Proven experience in a senior HR / People & Culture generalist or business partnering role
* Strong working knowledge of employee and industrial relations and employment legislation
* Experience working in a complex or regulated environment (public sector experience desirable but not essential)
* Strong influencing and coaching skills with the ability to deliver pragmatic, fit-for-purpose solutions
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and professional judgement
