About the role
Tassie Kids Dental is seeking an experienced, part-time Dental Assistant to join our team in Hobart, commencing in late Jan/early Feb 2026. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role to support Dr Marilyn, and ensure the delivery of consistent, exceptional patient care. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and dedicated team committed to promoting the oral health and wellbeing of children.
What you'll be doing
* All roles of a Dental Assistant, and more specifically
* Work with children, and those adults in special needs space, this is a vocation not a job
* Responsibility to communicate directly with families, and referring health care professionals
* Management of stock, and ordering responsibility
* Regularly work under nitrous sedation, in our rooms
* Work in day surgery facilities under general anaesthetic
What we're looking for
* Completion of a Dental Assisting certificate 3
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to put patients at ease and build trust. Ability to work as part of hospital team
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control
* Proficient in using dental equipment and software, with the ability to adapt to new technologies
* A genuine interest in oral health and a desire to contribute to the wellbeing of children
* Flexibility to work part-time hours, approx 30-32 hours per week.
