Network Management Centre Technical Officer
This role is for a technical officer at the Network Management Centre.
* Key responsibilities include analysing alarms, monitoring network performance and taking preventative action to minimise service disruption.
* Quality and cost-effective solutions are implemented to resolve network and service issues raised.
* The prescribed solutions meet customer requirements and existing SLAs where applicable.
* Network and service issues are attempted to be restored using pre-defined solutions, and if not successful, relevant information is gathered to escalate to the next level of support.
* Contribution to the development and documentation of NMC procedures, processes and knowledgebase is required.
* Permit to work and change requests are monitored and processed.
* Security desk monitoring function calls are received and actioned.
* NMC reviews and sign-off for internal job tickets are completed using the service delivery system.
* Contributions to various forums relating to process, procedure, network/service issue identification and solution generation or other business requirements are expected.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Diploma/COT in Electronics, Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering, or extensive and relevant industry experience is essential.
* CCNA, JNCIA or similar certifications are also essential.
* ITIL Certification is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining carrier grade telecommunication services across one or more of the following networks: PDH, SDH, DWDM, OTN, IP/MPLS, xDSL and wireless.
