About the role
We are seeking a motivated, talented and vibrant Commis Chef to bring high standards and creativity to Yamagen. The ideal candidate will have a team-first attitude, a passion for culinary excellence, and the drive to succeed in this dynamic industry. We are looking for a dedicated professional who would embrace the opportunity to work for Australia’s leading designer hotel brand.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and produce dishes to the highest standards.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure an efficient kitchen environment.
- Anticipate and attend to our guests\' needs to ensure an incredible experience.
- Ordering and general administration.
- Work in the kitchen as directed on a daily basis.
- Ensure that your work is carried out in a timely and efficient fashion.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.
- Ensure that the established standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
- Help produce an environment of learning and professionalism.
- Carry out any other related duties as directed by senior kitchen staff.
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team.
- Maintain a high degree of knowledge with regard to food products.
- Have full knowledge of, and practice all of the hotel’s established workplace health and safety guidelines (WH&S;).
