Area Manager – Penrith
At Healthscope Independence Services (HIS), we are excited to launch our new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) apartment service within the NDIS. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Area Manager to lead this new site and play a key role in establishing high‐quality supports from day one.
Employment Details: Permanent, Full Time. Classification: Level 6. Location: Penrith, NSW.

About the Role
This key leadership position reports to the Director, Client Services. As the Area Manager you will oversee the successful operation of our new SDA site, ensuring high‐quality, person‐centred supports aligned with NDIS, TAC and iCare standards. The role currently manages a standalone site, with potential for future expansion to oversee multiple sites within Sydney as our services grow.
Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and guidance to support workers, offering expert advice, coaching and support to ensure high‐quality service delivery within your local area.
- Overseeing daily operational requirements, including staffing levels, roster management and ensuring the house meets quality, safety and compliance standards.
- Supporting client‐centred practice, including oversight of client intake, assessments, referrals and ensuring smooth admission processes.
- Monitoring compliance and quality, such as staff training, documentation, audits and continuous improvement activities across the service.
- Managing financial and business performance, including oversight of budgets and reporting.
- Driving team development, through mentoring, performance discussions, onboarding and fostering a positive, values‐driven culture.
- Promoting safety and risk management, responding to incidents, supporting wellbeing initiatives and ensuring staff have the training and tools to work safely.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or Aged Care.
- Strong understanding of SDA, SIL and NDIS Quality & Safeguarding frameworks.
- Experience in supervising or leading a large team of disability support workers, with sound leadership experience.
- Excellent communication, written, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, conflict and negotiations and comfort making decisions that balance risk, client outcomes and commercial/strategic issues.
- Ability to mentor and coach staff to ensure best practice service delivery is achieved.
