Screening Recruitment and Cancer Prevention Officer (501121L1)Pay CompetitiveEmployment type Part-TimeJob DescriptionReq#: 1150824The Team:The Screening, Recruitment and Cancer Prevention Unit collaborates with healthcare providers, stakeholders and Tasmanian communities to raise awareness about the importance of cancer prevention, screening and early detection.The role:Plan, develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate recruitment and education activities for Population Screening and Cancer Prevention, including responding to public enquiries on screening programs and related cancer issues.Prepare submissions, discussion papers and report on the recruitment and education functions of Population Screening and Cancer Prevention.Conduct face to face recruitment and education activities for community and professional groups.Develop and maintain knowledge and expertise in health promotion, education, and cancer prevention.Represent Population Screening and Cancer Prevention on committees or working groups as required.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.You will need:Demonstrated experience and skills in health promotion and education program development, implementation, and evaluation.Proven ability to identify key stakeholders and engage them in collaborative planning processes to deliver optimal outcomes.Ability to be self-motivated, use initiative and work cooperatively in a team environment, including prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, researching, and appropriately filtering information.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Why Tasmania:The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services.
