What you'll be doing
The Drug Health Social Worker assesses and coordinates care for clients, liaises with families and other services to facilitate drug and alcohol treatment within a harm reduction framework. As part of the multidisciplinary Centre for Addiction Medicine Team, the role involves supporting colleagues in utilizing community health and welfare services and implementing care plans for clients with complex health and psychosocial needs.

Essential Criteria :
* Current valid NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel within and outside the Local Health District.
* Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW), including practical application of the AASW Code of Ethics. Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience.
Selection Criteria :
* Extensive postgraduate experience working with clients with complex drug and alcohol issues, including understanding of child protection, homelessness, domestic and family violence, mental illness, and cultural diversity.
* Commitment to working with Aboriginal clients, families, and communities, and improving health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups.
* Experience working within a trauma-informed and harm reduction framework.
* Experience in crisis intervention, short-term solution-focused intervention, assessment, and care planning.
* Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills.
* Ability to work as part of multidisciplinary teams, applying professional and ethical boundaries. Willing to work across various Drug Health sites.
* Experience in providing clinical supervision, education, facilitating groups, and leading quality improvement projects.
* High-level communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to identify key messages and concerns.
