Reporting to the Finance Manager, the assistant accountant will follow strategies and policies as implemented by the Finance Manager. Assist the Finance team to manage day-to-day accounting procedures, minimize cost, assist other departments with finance queries when required. Be proactive in problem solving, learning and applying knowledge to all logical processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist with AP functions (processing bills, credits, reconciliations, etc.)
* Assist with AR functions (compliance, follow up debtors, assessing orders, credit applications, etc.)
* Bank reconciliations & daily banking entries
* Monthly general ledger account reconciliations/assisting with month end process
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders daily to ensure any issues are resolved promptly
* Maintenance of employee expense approvals per company policy within our expense management system
* Work with finance team to identify and implement business process improvement
* Other ad hoc duties to support the team
Other Requirements
* Accounting Degree and knowledge essential
* Require minimum of 2 years' experience within a similar role
* Experience with general ledger / AR Collections highly regarded
* Computer literacy, working knowledge of MS Office suite and Excel
* Experience with Oracle Fusion highly regarded
* Intermediate M365 skills
* Confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders ensuring confidentiality
* Eager to learn and adapt
* Flexible and adaptable to take on new tasks
* Attention to detail coupled with a high level of accuracy in data entry
* Strong level of written & verbal communication skills
