ROLE
Seeking a security-focused part‑time System Administrator to be the backbone of the company's operations. The role is for a part‑time permanent employee who can commit to 3 days per week while remaining available for priority tasks at any time.
This critical role involves the successful design, management, and continuous optimisation of both the firm's internal infrastructure and the diverse, high‑availability hosting environments maintained for their clients.
* Architecture & Management: Designing and implementing secure, scalable hosting solutions across client environments (Cloud and Data Centre).
* Availability & Performance: Ensuring high availability, low latency, and efficient capacity planning for all hosted applications.
* Security & Compliance: Developing and enforcing policies to maintain robust security standards and compliance with frameworks like ISO 27001 .
* Monitoring & Response: Building and maintaining accurate monitoring/alerting systems and providing prompt, effective on‑call support for critical incidents.
* Maintenance & Hardening: Performing monthly server patch management, maintaining internal hardware (PCs/laptops), and managing networking/firewall configurations.
YOU
* A motivated, proactive tech‑lover with 5+ years of experience in System Administration, ideally within the fast‑paced environment of a digital consultancy.
* Highly confident overseeing infrastructure, excelling at diagnosis, resolution, and continuous improvement.
* An exceptional communicator, adept at liaising with technical teams and providing clear customer support to clients.
* A current Australian driver's licence.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands‑on knowledge of:
* Cloud Platforms: Deployment, configuration, and support in major platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
* Operating Systems: Deep administration of Windows Server environments, Windows Desktop, and MacOS.
* Networking & Security: Configuration and management of firewalls, including advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities.
* Virtualisation: Strong Windows Server administration and familiarity with platforms like Proxmox.
* Web Servers: Configuration and support of Apache, IIS, and NGINX.
* DevOps: Experience or knowledge will be highly advantageous.
