About This Role

* Ongoing, full-time role based in Sunshine
* Make a difference in reducing the overrepresentation of Indigenous people in the Criminal Justice System
* Salary banding of $97,955 - $111,142 plus superannuation

This is a prioritized role for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, who will be given priority consideration as per the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

Through its long-standing commitment to the Aboriginal Justice Agreement, the Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Plan, the Koori Inclusion Action Plan, and in partnership with the Victorian Aboriginal community, CJS has developed this unique Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager role.

About The Role

The Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager will be responsible for managing a caseload of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal persons to deliver dynamic, evidence-based best practices in case management of individuals with complex needs and those who have committed serious offences.

This role may also require you to assist in assessing clients' suitability for correctional orders and attendance to provide advice to the Koori Court.

Key Responsibilities Include

* Develop and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal persons
* Identify and evaluate factors related to individual offending behavior and provide individualised risk assessments
* Provide advice to senior management and community-based teams on effective case management of Aboriginal persons
* Develop relationships with Aboriginal organizations and other entities that support and strengthen case management
* Manage a caseload and develop rapport with individuals to address offending behavior and complete correctional orders

About You

* Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal community
* Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community and related issues
* Experience and knowledge of best practice case management frameworks
* Ability to apply theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximize individual outcomes
* Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
