Ac.care
ac.care is a respected not-for-profit organisation supporting people and communities across regional South Australia. After many years of dedicated service, CEO Shane Maddocks has announced his retirement, creating a unique opportunity for a new leader to build on his strong legacy.
With a workforce of approximately 240 staff, ac.care delivers a broad range of programs including foster care, homelessness services, Aboriginal and family services, financial counselling and other community initiatives.
Guided by its mission that all people should have a safe home, enough money to live on, and strong, positive relationships, ac.care plays a vital role in strengthening the wellbeing and resilience of communities. Grounded in the values of compassion, adaptability, relationships and excellence, the organisation works alongside individuals, families and communities across the Limestone Coast, Murraylands, Riverland, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula, delivering services that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
Key responsibilities include:
* partnering with the Board to set and drive strategy that advances ac.care's mission and actively influences policy and reform as a leading organisation in community services;
* leading a high-engagement culture that builds confident, capable people who advocate for the communities ac.care serve;
* delivering financial strength and disciplined risk management to sustain and grow the organisation's impact;
* maintaining strong governance and clear, strategic reporting to the Board;
* building powerful relationships with communities and across government, political leaders, funders, business and partners to shape funding and sector direction;
* acting as a visible and credible sector voice, championing the needs of ac.care's community and stakeholders.
Applications are encouraged from experienced and values-driven executive leaders who bring strong commercial acumen alongside a genuine commitment to social impact. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide strategic leadership, engage and inspire a diverse workforce, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and the community.
Given ac.care's focus on regional South Australia, extensive travel will be a necessary aspect of the role.
