About this role:
The Maintenance Manager is a key role in the organisation and will be responsible for leading and managing the equipment maintenance function & workshop operations and its employees. You will need to have strong leadership skills, be an effective communicator and ensure the efficient and effective day to day operations of the workshop. The role is also responsible to ensure that all related software systems are properly used and populated to ensure accurate reporting.
What will your day look like:
Workshop Management:
* Responsible for creating a positive environment that inspires employees and contractors to work safely, efficiently and effectively to meet the business needs.
* Oversee the workshop operations daily / weekly ensuring all vehicles, plant and equipment are mechanically sound, safe, and compliant.
* Management of all workshop costs (parts / supply / labour) and ensure all costs are minimalised and kept within budget.
* Manage workshop employees & contractors to ensure hours are monitored whilst maintaining the needs of the business.
* Liaising with superintendents, project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to provide updates on the availability and performance of equipment and vehicles.
* Training, and evaluating the workshop staff, providing feedback and guidance.
* Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the workshop.
* Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality assurance procedures.
* Overseeing the accurate compliance of records.
* Manage the inventory and procurement of materials and parts.
* Effective management of Apprentices and ensure a cross-section of skills are being attained.
* Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of the workshop operations & equipment maintenance.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external stake holders, communicating timelines, ensuring their satisfaction and resolving any issues or complaints.
Key Functions:
* Develop & maintain an effective preventative maintenance strategy for all assets.
* Responsible for quality repairs, servicing and rebuilds / refurbishments.
* Cost effective spare parts procurement, inventory and JIT strategy to minimize stock holdings.
* Responsible for the provision of quality, efficient field service and repair work.
* Effective workshop planning & scheduling.
* MEX Data input and integrity.
* Timesheet, payroll and employee leave management.
* Cost effective sub-contractor management.
* Ensures building & yard maintenance & housekeeping.
* Responsible for WAHVA Accreditation.
* Effective management of equipment warranties to ensure satisfactory business outcome.
* Whole of life asset preventative maintenance planning.
* Provide informed recommendations of future equipment purchases based on maintenance and whole of life costings.

About you:
* Experience in a similar role in a civil construction company or related industry.
* A strong knowledge of civil construction equipment and vehicles, including their operation, maintenance and repair.
* A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* A proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* A keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
Skills / Qualifications:
* Construction Safety Awareness Card / White Card.
* Class C Motor Vehicle License.
* A relevant trade qualification or certification.
* Full rights to work in Australia.
