Job Description
Goodman Fielder Currently we have a vacancy for an experienced Team Lead Baker, in our baking production facility in Townsville. The Team Leader Baker is an integral member of the baking team. The role will make a strong contribution to a high performing production team and team culture within the Townsville site.
This position is integral to the success output of our daily fresh products to the community. You will work with the operations team to ensure that our daily fresh bread products are produced and packaged in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring quality and food safety standards are met. You will need experience in food or dairy manufacturing or machine line operations.
To ensure success in this role you will have good communication and be committed to following processes and procedures. Interacting with a variety of people will come naturally to you, and while you will actively contribute to the team you will be disciplined enough to work autonomously. Key accountabilities of the role include: Responsible for the production of the highest quality daily fresh products.
Drive team performance across safety, quality, GMP and cost objectives Develop team capability through coaching, training and performance management Maintain effective communication with site leadership and cross-functional teams Operation of machinery and equipment on the processing lines Adhering to the company's Health and Safety/Food Safety (HACCP) policy and procedures Key tasks of the role include: Checking the quality of raw material and ensuring the correct product mix by the bakers in the team. Monitoring oven temperatures and checking on product appearance to ensure production of high-quality bread products. Oversee the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread products.
Perform effective on-line quality checks, product evaluation and monitoring. About You Certificate or skills assessment in Baking or similar relevant qualification.
Health and Safety certificates and a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified baker in a commercial baking environment, with experience in a supervisory team leader role. Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and lead a team.
