Please note this is a full-time maximum term contract role to June 30th, 2026, offering 76 hours per fortnight, based out of Mt Isa with regular travel required.
Your role in our UnitingCare team
Are you interested in exploring the rural and remote outback of QLD? Would you love to visit children and families on stations, in communities, learn about rural life, and work with stakeholders committed to supporting families and children to reach their best outcomes?
This position includes:
1. Supporting early childhood development, parenting resilience, and mobile services to communities
2. Developing and implementing programs to strengthen family relationships, early intervention, and prevention activities
3. Enhancing and supporting increased First Nations/Multicultural community participation and family functioning
4. Providing information, advice, and referral pathways
5. Increasing awareness of children's wellbeing with a holistic approach to supporting early childhood education in alignment with family and child support to nurture children for learning and life
6. This role is predominantly delivered in remote locations, with approximately 60% of work hours spent travelling and overnighting in communities
You will be working alongside fellow RAFS workers located in Longreach, Mount Isa, Emerald, Mareeba, and Charleville.

You will be a highly motivated and energetic individual with experience working with young children and supporting families and communities.
Tertiary Qualification or working towards a Diploma or higher in Children's Services, Counselling, Community Services, or similar, or willingness to study.
A current Queensland driver's license and Blue Card are required.
