Role Overview
As a Senior Research Agronomist (On-farm Breeding Research) working within a diverse and energetic team, you will provide support to the current research team evaluating germplasm across multiple field sites to improve economic and export outcomes.
Key aspects to the role include technical agronomic knowledge to conduct research field trials, coordinate and implement a field work program, possess computer literacy for management and curation of multiple forms of breeding generated datasets, ability to understand commercial breeding outcomes, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications
A Bachelor degree (AQF level 7 or equivalent) or higher in Agricultural Science, Applied Science or Rural Science in a field relevant to the position from a recognised tertiary institution.
Broadacre dryland pulse research and breeding experience is highly desirable.
Current 'C' class drivers' licence (preferably manual) and desirably hold a forklift Licence.
Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight, to service research sites.
Strong communication skills, keen eye for detail, great time management, effective problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude.
