About the role
West Moreton provides comprehensive primary health care to young persons at the detention centres based in Wacol, consisting of a multidisciplinary team of General practitioners, Junior doctors, Nurses as well as through referrals to allied and specialist clinicians from paediatrics, adolescent and youth adult medicine, and child youth mental health services.
**About the role (PHOs)**: There is an opportunity for a junior medical officer aspiring in a career within general practice, paediatrics, medicine, psychiatry, or public health to work with general practitioners and paediatricians in providing enhanced primary
health care to vulnerable young people by performing comprehensive and holistic screening assessments as well as providing care and referrals to specialist services. It will include preparation and participation in multidisciplinary case conferencing including with specialists for identified complex clinical cases spanning across physical, mental, and developmental/cognitive disorders to not only establish diagnosis but to deliver optimal care within detention and upon release back into their community, giving young people the best chances for rehabilitation.

**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
