Clinical Nurse Specialist – Older Persons Mental Health Services (OPMHS)
Join our Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing team as a Clinical Nurse Specialising in Older Persons Mental Health Services (OPMHS), based in North West Tasmania. You will work directly closely with individuals, their families, and both formal and informal support networks to help older people live their best lives.

Role
* Our services work closely with both the public and private sectors to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
* The Clinical Nurse Specialist is a clinical expert in the area of practice and acts as a clinical resource for nursing, medical and allied health staff in the management of consumers with complex mental health needs, working with other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care within the designated area of practice.
Responsibilities
* Initiates, develops, implements and evaluates clinical policy, care guidelines, quality improvement and research activities in accordance with contemporary best practice to improve consumer outcomes.
* Provides case management to a designated number of consumers with complex needs, including those living with dementia.
* Facilitates carer education.
* Collaborates with healthcare professionals, community organizations and families.
Qualifications
* Experience in mental health and clinical nursing directly applicable to mental health settings.
* Sound understanding or ability to develop understanding of relevant statutory, departmental procedures and policies.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of trauma‐informed care principles.
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Current driver's licence.
* Desirable: extensive psychiatric nursing experience and/or credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse by the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses Inc. or equivalent; holds or is working towards relevant tertiary qualifications.
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (pro rata). 12% superannuation contribution on top of base salary. 76 hours per fortnight.

North West Tasmania.
