Northside Comms Pty Ltd is seeking a Radiocommunication Technician to join our Brisbane-based company.
This permanent full-time role offers long-term security for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Install, operate and maintain plant and equipment for telecommunications network systems, including diagnostic and troubleshooting activities.
Work alongside riggers as the ground team member.
Commission telecom equipment, repair, test and troubleshoot faults using tools such as Anritsu line sweep, PIM tester, fibre testers, etc.
Order replacement of faulty equipment as required.
Modify and upgrade telecommunications systems as per client instructions.
Label new and existing equipment/cables according to client standards (Telstra, Optus, VHA, TPG, NBN).
Integrate and call-test newly installed 4G & 5G equipment.
Document, photograph and submit telecom hand-over pack requirements.
Organise and prepare materials needed for each job.
Return and collect equipment from client warehouses.
Organise warehouse spare equipment and materials.
Qualifications
Highest commitment to safe working practices.
Previous experience in the telecommunications industry (highly regarded).
Degree or diploma in telecommunications or electrical engineering.
Construction White Card.
Australian Driver's Licence.
Experience installing and/or supporting Huawei, Nokia and Ericsson RBS, WCDMA/LTE (preferred).
Knowledge of installation and maintenance of antenna and feeder cables on monopoles, rooftops and towers.
Basic understanding of transmission systems: PDH, SDH, DWDM, ATM and packet-switched networks.
Full Australian working rights.
Rigging qualifications preferred (Rigging Certificate, Working at Heights & RF Awareness Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Tower Rescue qualification).
Available to travel and work away from home when required.
