The role
Interchange Gippsland provides a range of different support services to meet the needs of participants and their families.
As a Community Access Worker ("CAW") you will assist and support participants to work towards achieving their goals, and promote independence, empowerment and choice through person-centred practice. CAWs support participants to engage with the broader community and enhance their access to new experiences and opportunities. CAWs are responsible for the day to day running of group and/or individual activities for people with disabilities.
We are looking for someone who:
* can start work in January 2026,
* has direct disability support experience, and
* is comfortable driving a 12 seater van.
You would be a particularly great fit for the role if you're available:
* Mondays and/or Wednesdays 3:00pm - 7:00pm

The requirements:
General:
Our CAWs are driven by our organisation's values-based approach to provide quality services to participants and their families. CAW possesses effective communication skills, teamwork skills, critical problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Minimum Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support or a similar qualification.
* Current Level II First Aid certificate (this can be obtained once you're the successful candidate).
* Current CPR certificate (this can be obtained once you're the successful candidate).
* Current Drivers Licence.
* Victorian Working with Children Check (this can be obtained once you're the successful candidate).
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (this can be obtained once you're the successful candidate).
