Hancock Energy has a Max Term opportunity until 2028 for a Lead Contracts Specialist to join a growing team supporting onshore oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia.

This opportunity is within the Projects team based onshore in West Perth. The Lead Contracts Specialist is responsible for Responsible for all Contracting and Procurement activities for the Project, whether HE or through Contractors. A relationship focussed and dynamic opportunity that will form an Integral part in all C&P activities throughout the Project and Operation phases.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead contract close-out and lessons learnt process.
* Seek opportunities that enhances the project value proposition within the Hancock Energy engineering and project framework
* Managing procurement and contracting activities, from identification to strategy development, through to award, management and closeout.
* Identify, coordinate & lead the development of Gas Project Model Contracts, Standard Forms and Templates.
* Develop and implement portfolio contracting strategies aligned with project, operations and corporate objectives.
* Establish Assurance requirements, process and procedures.
* Contribute to overall and develop portfolio-based C&P awareness and training to stakeholders
* Manage, support and actively be involved in sourcing of equipment, materials and services.
* Forecast demand, plan budgets and set KPIs for C&P activities.
* Contribute and support the creation and optimisation of the Project's C&P systems, processes and procedures, templates, standard forms and checklists.
* Lead commercial bid evaluations, negotiations and supplier selection.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, local laws and international standards.
* Ensure contracts safeguard HE interests and allocates risks appropriately
* Monitor contract execution, variations, claims and dispute resolution.
* Lead contract close-out and lessons learnt process.
* Monitor and report project progress, expenditure, and forecast to complete.
* Variance analysis for cost, and schedule, including identification of exceptions and corrective actions as appropriate.
* Support risk and opportunity management including contingency management.
* Aid, support and attend all Portfolio and C&P department meetings and carry out any reporting requirements.
* Engage and coordinate with the Project's LT and project teams to drive a proactive claims management approach.
* Definition and application of rules and systems to meet project conformance, tracking and reporting.
* Cost effective delivery within the Hancock Energy CAPEX and OPEX framework.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Minimum of 15 years' management experience, in Oil and Gas procurement and contracting
* Advanced knowledge of Contract Management procedures, processes with intricate hands-on experience of negotiating and managing a variety of complex contracts.
* Must have previous experience in fee estimate, tenders, contracts, claims, variations, project planning, schedule integration, schedule analysis, cost analysis and project performance management

* Proven track record managing large scale EPC/EPCM and service contracts.
