We are looking for a high-energy, commercially-minded Finance Director to lead our Australian finance function. The Role
As the Finance Director, you are more than just a numbers person; you are a key member of the local leadership team and a strategic partner to the Managing Director. You will own the finance function for the Australian business, ensuring we maintain our aggressive growth trajectory while upholding rigorous financial discipline.
This is a hands‐on leadership role. You will lead a small, capable team and act as the vital link between our Australian operations and our US Global Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial Partnership: Work closely with Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to embed financial insights into demand planning, inventory management, and ROI analysis.
* Strategic Oversight: Own the full financial planning cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L performance reviews.
* Retail Collaboration: Support trading terms, pricing, and promotions for major Australian retailers (Big W, Target, Kmart, Amazon).
* Financial Integrity: Maintain oversight of all core accounting functions (AP/AR, tax, audit, payroll) and ensure compliance with Australian statutory requirements.
* Process Improvement: Utilize tools like Power BI to drive efficiencies in reporting and identify opportunities for cost control and margin improvement.
Skills & Experience
* Qualified Professional: CPA/CA qualified with 8–12+ years of experience in finance and accounting, including proven leadership.
* Industry Expert: Direct experience within FMCG or Consumer Goods is essential. Familiarity with the Australian retail landscape (Big W, Kmart, etc.) is a significant advantage.
* Hands‐on Leader: You thrive in a mid‐sized environment where you can mentor a small team while remaining involved in day‐to‐day finance activities.
* Agile Communicator: You can translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non‐finance stakeholders and engage effectively with a US-based CFO.
