Locations subject to a range of course delivery at TAFE NSW campuses (subject to Campus Availability)

Casual

$96.26 per hour (includes base rate and casual loading)

About the role

The Auslan Teacher will be delivering accredited and non-accredited training to a diverse range of students. The role of the TAFE teacher is to deliver educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. This is a casual opportunity with flexible hours.

About You

Essential Requirements:

* Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a qualification or Statement of Attainment which includes the unit PSPLAN012 Converse in Auslan at a proficient user level.
* Have a minimum of 5 years post qualification industry experience relevant to your interaction with the Deaf community gained within the last 5 years.
* Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification (TAE) to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.

Highly Desirable

* Lived experience as a Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing person would be highly advantageous, bringing valuable cultural insight to support inclusive teaching.

This is a child-related position. Successful candidates must hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencing. TAFE NSW will also conduct an Australian National Criminal Record Check on the preferred applicant as part of the pre‐employment process.

To be eligible for a position at TAFE NSW, you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.

A suitability list, valid for 36 months, may be created for this position and used to fill future vacancies.

Location is negotiable across our TAFE NSW campuses. Please note that preferred campus location is not guaranteed and is subject to campus availability at the time of offer.
