This is a significant leadership opportunity for an experienced midwifery professional to guide and shape high quality care across the Antenatal Clinic (ANC), Midwifery Group Practice (MGP), and Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS). As the Midwifery Unit Manager, you will oversee the full scope of unit operations, ensuring excellence in patient care, service delivery, and resource management. The role is central to coordinating patient journeys, fostering cohesive multidisciplinary collaboration, and maintaining a safe, supportive, and efficient clinical environment. Working within South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), you will contribute directly to the organisation's vision of Leading Care and healthier communities, and play a key part in upholding a culture grounded in the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
Demonstrated senior midwifery experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise.
Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based midwifery and nursing care.
Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
