Senior Compliance Manager
to join their Legal, Governance and Compliance team.
This organisation manages billions on behalf of institutional, high-net-worth and retail investors across real estate, private equity, energy transition, digital infrastructure, and private credit. They have a track record of executing large, complex transactions and delivering strong returns, with a team renowned for its expertise and collaborative approach.
The Role
In this pivotal role, you will be the 2IC to the General Counsel leading the entire compliance function. You'll be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the compliance frameworks for the group and its managed funds (listed and unlisted). You'll ensure the organisation operates within all relevant regulations and internal policies, while providing practical, commercially minded compliance advice to stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight and monitoring of compliance requirements across the group and managed funds, including reporting and register management.
* Managing AFSL licensing obligations and applications for new or varied licences and registrations.
* Maintaining and monitoring the AML/CTF program.
* Drafting, reviewing and updating compliance policies, and conducting assurance reviews.
* Staying ahead of regulatory changes and implementing required updates.
* Delivering compliance training and drafting internal communications.
* Overseeing compliance investigations and supporting internal/external audits.
* Liaising with regulators (including ASIC and AUSTRAC) and external advisers.
* Preparing compliance sections of board packs and resolutions.
* Driving a strong culture of compliance across the organisation.
About You:
* Significant experience in a senior compliance role within funds management.
* Strong knowledge of ASIC obligations, financial services licensing regimes (including credit licensing) and AML/CTF regulations.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements.
* Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented.
