Advanced Trainee in Infectious Diseases
The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking an advanced trainee to join their team of infectious diseases physicians. The selected candidate will be based at Launceston General Hospital and work closely with a team of specialists, including microbiologists, pharmacists, and basic physician trainees.
The Infectious Diseases Unit offers a wide range of subspecialties, including surgical and medical cases, and participates in regular multidisciplinary meetings with other specialties. The outpatient consultation service includes general infectious diseases clinics, antimicrobial therapy clinics, and high-risk foot clinics. Additionally, the trainee will have opportunities to participate in research projects and educational programs.
As part of this role, the successful applicant will also be eligible for an honorary clinical appointment with the University of Tasmania. This will provide valuable experience in teaching and supervising medical students.

* This is a fixed-term full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight, with 10 hours of protected training time. The ideal start date is from February 2025.
