Ventia is seeking a Seams Person to assist with the daily operation of the Defence clothing store located within Robertson Barracks. This role requires good customer service and communication skills, dealing with defence personnel on the base. It is a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:30am – 4:06pm.
Key Responsibilities
Measure and fit customers for clothing items
Perform duties of sewing ranks, insignia, and badges to Defence specification
Sewing duties including hemming, alterations, and medal mounting
Customer service and record keeping of customer orders
Use of computer systems
Stocktaking
Experience in hand stitch and sewing machine clothing alterations
Experience using heavy duty sewing machines (desirable)
Experience working in a team/customer service environment (desirable)
High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
Scheduling workloads and meeting production deadlines
Eligibility
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1 and an Australian Citizen.
