About the role
This is a hands-on welding role focused on aluminium work in a production environment. You'll be part of a small team, producing clean, visual welds with consistent hours, training provided, and plenty of overtime available.
Duties
- Perform aluminium welding (primarily MIG) on trailer components such as tipper tubs and other fabricated parts.
- Carry out production welding to a high visual standard – no grinding, sanding, or cosmetic finishing; weld quality is critical.
- Weld aluminium materials up to 10mm thickness with precision and consistency.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and welding symbols accurately.
- Operate welding equipment and maintain safe work practices in line with company policies and WHS standards.
- Collaborate within a small team (approx. 3 people within a wider team of 15) and contribute to overall workshop output.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment and report any maintenance requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area
Skills and experience
- Proven experience as an Aluminium Welder, preferably in production or fabrication settings.
- Strong competency with MIG welding on aluminium up to 10mm thickness.
- Ability to produce visually tidy welds to a high standard without the need for cosmetic rework.
- Skilled in reading and working from technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
- Physically fit to meet the demands of welding and fabrication work.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
- Flexibility and reliability to meet production schedules.
