About the role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maintenance Manager to manage and oversee maintenance activities and the upkeep of the company's training facilities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our infrastructure, supporting the delivery of world-class commercial dive training.
This is a full-time role based between our training shed in Sheffield and saturation diving barge on Lake Cethana, with occasional site visits to other locations (Beauty Point, WA and Brisbane).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Performing hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment, vessels, and facilities to keep everything in top working order.
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maximise operational reliability.
- Contributing to and improving the maintenance management system, ensuring accurate records and data-driven decision-making.
- Coordinating and (when required) supervising contractors or technicians to complete more complex maintenance tasks.
- Collaborating with the operations team to ensure training programs run without disruption.
- Assisting with maintenance compliance activities, including IMCA internal auditing requirements.
- Monitoring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and ensuring all work is performed safely, as well as contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen our QHSE management system.
- Providing clear and timely maintenance reports and updates to senior management.
What We’re Looking For
- A proven track record (5+ years) in maintenance management or a senior maintenance role where you have been actively involved in both planning and completing the work.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to work independently on repairs and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills to prioritise tasks and keep everything running smoothly.
- Proficient with Microsoft programs (outlook, excel); experience using maintenance management software or systems highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, maintenance management, or a related field (highly desirable but not essential).
- No diving experience required — training will be provided for any site-specific requirements.
