About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Research Services Officer– Oceanography to join our research team. The primary purpose of the role is to coordinate and oversee the planning and delivery of field-based research operations and laboratory work required to deliver scientific research outcomes.
* Coordinate and oversee field-based research operations and laboratory work
* Supervise and undertake fieldwork on SARDI vessels and commercial fishing vessels
* Implement hazard management and WHS processes
Key Responsibilities
The role involves:
1. Preparing, maintaining and operating oceanographic equipment
2. Water quality sampling
3. Deployment and recovery of oceanographic sensors on coastal moorings
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A Coxswain certification
* Demonstrated experience in small vessel operations relevant to coastal oceanographic monitoring
