Position Overview
The Crane Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of timber, building materials, and hardware products to customers and job sites across NSW. This role involves operating heavy rigid (HR) vehicles fitted with vehicle-mounted cranes, loading and unloading materials, maintaining delivery schedules, and ensuring compliance with all transport safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate HR crane trucks in accordance with RMS and company safety standards.
Load and unload timber, building products, and hardware using a truck-mounted crane.
Deliver orders accurately to customers, trade sites, and retail branches as scheduled.
Conduct daily vehicle pre-start checks and report maintenance issues promptly.
Secure loads in compliance with load restraint guidelines and company policy.
Maintain delivery records, paperwork, and electronic job logs as required.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse, and customers to ensure efficient delivery coordination.
Represent the company professionally on-site and maintain excellent customer service standards.
Comply with all WHS procedures, traffic laws, fatigue management regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
Current
HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver's Licence
(essential).
Current
Crane Ticket (HIAB / Vehicle Mounted Crane – CV, CN, or higher)
(essential).
White Card (Construction Induction) preferred.
Proven experience operating a crane truck within the building materials, timber, or transport industry.
Strong understanding of load restraint, road safety, and WHS requirements.
Ability to complete paperwork accurately and use electronic delivery systems.
