Role Description
This Part-time AND full-time, on-site role based in Lismore, NSW, is an exciting opportunity for a Scrub/Scout Theatre Nurse (RN/EN). The role involves preparing and maintaining operating rooms and equipment, assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, and ensuring adherence to safety and sterile protocols. Responsibilities include managing instruments and supplies during surgeries, supporting the surgical team, and ensuring smooth workflow to deliver high-quality patient care. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and providing exceptional support to patients are integral aspects of this role.
Qualifications
Proven experience in scrub and scout roles, and proficiency in assisting with surgical procedures.
Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilization techniques, and theatre sterilization processes.
Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills for working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and excellent organizational skills.
Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
Experience in perioperative nursing practice is highly regarded.
