Job Description:
School Address: PO Box 2067 Geraldton WA 6531 is not relevant to the position. The Teacher reports to the principal and works collaboratively with all staff. They have delegated responsibility to develop and maintain learning and social inclusion responses of the campus.
1. Teaching Responsibilities: Planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging learning and teaching programs for young people in the middle and secondary phase of secondary education, creating flexible, innovative curriculum to engage students, including project-based learning and engagement activities.
2. Inclusive Learning Programs: Plan and effectively implement class and individual student learning programs that meet all legislative requirements with respect to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
3. Diversity and Inclusion: Build learning programs that reflect the diversity within the classroom and design learning experiences that cater for individuals with specific needs.
4. Individual Learning Plans: Ensure young people are provided with a learning program that maximizes their outcomes through the development of Individual Learning Plans for each young person; and contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the ILP process.
Selection Criteria:
1. Catholic Values: Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in working with young people disenfranchised from mainstream education.
3. Teaching Skills: Skills and knowledge in teaching processes, framework, and practice.
4. Local Travel: Local travel (including minivan driving) is a requirement of this position; therefore, it is a requirement that the applicant hold a current 'C' driver's license and is required to drive a bus.
5. First Aid: Current First Aid or willingness to obtain.
6. Team Collaboration: Proven ability to lead whole school literacy and numeracy programs, run staff professional development programs, and develop and run activities for special celebrations throughout the year.
7. Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams and coach staff.
