Paralegal | Sunshine Coast | Join a Growing Litigation Practice
We're looking for a paralegal to support our litigation team and help keep the practice running smoothly.
About Clutch Legal
We're a litigation firm on the Sunshine Coast. Small team (4 lawyers, 3 support staff), but growing quickly. We handle commercial disputes, building and construction matters, property litigation, and civil cases for a range of clients.
We work hard, but we maintain reasonable hours. We support each other, and we're building something here, which means there's room to grow with us.
The Role
This is a full-time paralegal position supporting our litigation team. You'll be doing the essential work that keeps a law firm functioning:
Client-facing work:
- First point of contact for clients and visitors—greeting people, answering calls, providing information about our services
- Communicating with clients, other lawyers, barristers, and court staff
- Ensuring clients feel looked after and informed
Document and file management:
- Preparing legal correspondence and court documents
- Maintaining our document management system (we use LEAP)
- Opening and closing files, managing file lists and tasks
- Scanning, photocopying, preparing briefs and court books
Practice management:
- Diary management for multiple lawyers
- Invoicing and reconciling accounts
- Keeping track of deadlines and ensuring nothing gets missed
- General administrative support that keeps the practice running
You'll work autonomously, but you'll have support when you need it.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in a legal administration or paralegal role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with legal practice management software (LEAP is a bonus, but we can train the right person)
- Excellent organisational skills, you can manage multiple priorities effectively
- Problem-solving ability and initiative
- Understanding of how a law firm operates (legal system basics, court procedures, standard workflows)
The person we're after:
- Takes initiative and works independently
- Pays attention to detail (in litigation, details matter)
- Can handle deadline pressure calmly
- Works well in a team and supports colleagues
- Communicates clearly with clients
- Can manage competing demands from multiple lawyers
