Naval Architect Job Summary
This is a key role that supports the Design and Engineering Change Team in delivering high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Naval Architecture and Structural discipline activities for Minor Vessels Engineering Teams.
* Develop and implement Engineering Changes for the fleet, ensuring compliance with project schedules and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate effectively with clients, peers, suppliers, and senior leaders.
* Prepare and review engineering documentation, including structural calculations, docking calculations, stability calculations, work instructions, test procedures, and engineering reports.
* Apply knowledge of ship structural design and sustainment to local structures and foundations.
* Utilise CAD and Finite Element Analysis tools to support design verification.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Naval Architecture with professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or more with a University Degree.
* Experience in Structural and Naval Architecture discipline activities, including Requirements Development, Engineering Design, Design Integration, Verification, and Validation.
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
