Luxcom Pty Ltd is seeking a Building Services / Mechanical Engineer to support the design, coordination and implementation of mechanical and building services systems for construction and engineering projects.
The role will involve assisting with the integration of building services such as HVAC, mechanical plant equipment, plumbing, fire protection and associated systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and review of engineering drawings, technical specifications and documentation for mechanical and building services systems.
* Study and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and schematics to support mechanical installation and system integration activities.
* Participate in design reviews and provide input on materials selection, installation feasibility and system performance.
2. Mechanical Systems Coordination
* Support the integration of mechanical systems such as HVAC equipment, plumbing infrastructure, and fire protection systems with structural and architectural components.
* Coordinate with project engineers, architects and construction teams to ensure building services are aligned with design requirements and site conditions.
* Assist in resolving mechanical and technical issues that arise during installation and commissioning phases.
3. Construction and Site Support
* Conduct site inspections to monitor mechanical installations and verify compliance with engineering drawings and project specifications.
* Support the supervision and coordination of mechanical equipment installation, alignment and commissioning activities.
* Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and structural issues during construction stages.
4. Quality Assurance and Compliance
* Assist with quality control procedures including inspection of materials, mechanical components and fabricated assemblies.
* Ensure engineering activities comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian Standards, and project requirements.
* Support documentation and technical reporting relating to installation progress, testing results and system performance.
5. Testing and Performance Evaluation
* Participate in performance testing and verification of mechanical systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
* Assist in commissioning processes and preparation of technical reports documenting engineering outcomes and system performance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline
* Minimum 1 year of relevant engineering experience in mechanical engineering, building services, or construction projects
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical documentation
* Familiarity with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar tools will be advantageous
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and teamwork skills
