The Role
We are seeking a passionate and driven Permanent Part-Time Assistant Store Manager to support our Mackay store. Averaging 25 hours per week, this role works closely with the Store Manager to deliver exceptional customer experiences, lead and develop the team, and ensure operational excellence across all areas of the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is ready to take the next step in their leadership career.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
* Support recruitment through interviews, phone screenings, and candidate selection
* Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
* Encourage accountability, engagement, and continuous development
Customer Experience
* Lead by example in delivering exceptional, personalised customer service
* Drive conversion, UPT, AOV, and loyalty capture in line with brand expectations
* Resolve customer enquiries and concerns professionally to ensure repeat business
Operational Excellence
* Support daily store operations in line with company policies and procedures
* Ensure high standards of store presentation, organisation, and efficiency
* Monitor team performance and service standards
Inventory Management
* Assist with stock control, replenishment, stocktakes, and loss prevention
* Implement effective stock management strategies to optimise availability
Visual Merchandising
* Execute and maintain VM direction aligned with brand standards
* Create visually engaging and commercially driven displays
* Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance in-store presentation
Financial Performance
* Support achievement of sales targets through team coaching and data insights
* Assist with monitoring wage spend, productivity, and store profitability
* Analyse sales results and customer feedback to identify opportunities
Communication & Collaboration
* Work closely with the Store Manager to ensure clear, consistent communication
* Share insights, feedback, and reporting with Retail Operations and HQ teams
* Encourage open dialogue and collaboration within the store team
About You
* Previous experience in a retail leadership or senior sales role (fashion preferred)
* Passionate about customer experience and team development
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Commercially minded with the ability to interpret sales data
* Flexible and reliable, with Sunday–Monday availability essential
* Must have full Australian working rights
