THE ROLE Reporting to the Head of Campaigns, Brand and Design, the Senior Graphic Designer will work as part of the Design team. They will deliver creative graphic design services and provide design, brand management, production services and advice to support the department's policies, programs and initiatives. They will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to manage design projects from end-to-end, from the client engagement and proposal stage, through to design, proofing and publishing. They will maintain consistency in branding, presentation and accessibility across all departmental and whole-of-government publications and design collateral, ensuring the department and government's brand and publishing guidelines are adhered to. They will provide high-level technical and conceptual design and branding advice to studio designers (including freelance designers) and oversee high-level design projects for the department, whilst maintaining and regularly updating, and improving the department's visual style guidelines. When required, they will provide leadership, surge support and resources to other policy portfolios to ensure effective communications services can be delivered by the branch during emergency, crisis and peak periods. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * Create graphic design work and give branding and production advice to support the department's policies, programs and initiatives. * Act as the go-to expert for graphic design and visual communication, giving practical advice to department staff at all levels, including senior staff and freelance designers. * Oversee the design and layout of artwork for a range of printed publications.
