We are seeking a highly capable Financial Controller to join the business and lead a small finance team, providing guidance and support across all core finance activities. This role is ideal for a commercially minded and technically strong accounting professional who enjoys hands-on leadership, driving process improvement and supporting a growing organisation through complex and interesting work.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller is responsible for all financial accounting, statutory reporting, management reporting, budgets, forecasts and financial controls across the organisation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality and timeliness of financial information, while also developing and maintaining financial models that support scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, capital management and long-term forecasting. Your work will provide essential insights to support effective decision making across the business.
This position also has key oversight of Technology One (CiA) and the delivery of system improvements, ensuring the platform is fit for purpose and used effectively throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate and timely financial, management and project reporting.
* Lead month end processes, reconciliations, accruals and Board reporting.
* Oversee financial and management accounting, AP, AR, BAS and project reporting.
* Manage intra-group allocations and key reconciliations, including debt, hedge and interest accounts.
* Coordinate budgets and forecasts and provide performance insights.
* Maintain the corporate financial model, including long-term forecasting, scenario planning and WACC.
* Monitor cash flow and recommend improvements.
* Oversee inventory management and stocktake processes.
* Lead and develop the finance team to ensure strong delivery.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements and internal controls.
* Identify financial risks and drive process and system improvements.
* Partner with senior leaders and support the CFO on key initiatives.
About You
You are a technically strong and forward-thinking leader who enjoys a hands-on role. You bring a balance of detail orientation and commercial perspective and can confidently manage complex reporting, financial models, auditors and high-pressure deadlines such as year end and half year.
You Will Also Bring
* CA or CPA qualification.
* At least five years experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior accounting role.
* Demonstrated capability in statutory reporting, audit, valuations, forecasting and financial modelling.
* Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
* Ability to mentor and continuously develop a finance team.
* Experience with Technology One will be highly regarded but is not essential.
