Business Development Officer
Your New Role:
An exciting, new opportunity exists to join Council’s team as a Business Development Officer.
As the Business Development Officer - Utilities, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation and continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for leading the review and optimisation of business processes, influencing strategic decisions, and coordinating across teams to deliver smarter, more efficient services.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and the community to enhance service delivery, improve compliance, and ensure our operations run seamlessly.
Key Accountabilities include:
* Leading the strategic review, analysis and optimisation of Utilities business processes.
* Leading strategic collaboration between internal and external stakeholders, coordinating information flow, and resolving issues that impact service delivery, coordinating and monitoring progress and outcomes.
* Applying advanced administrative and technical expertise to review and analyse current procedures, processes, systems and documentation.
* Providing highâlevel administrative leadership to the Utilities Directorate by independently managing complex operational and organisational requirements and ensuring effective coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders.
* Independently manage, assess and prioritise customer service requests for the Utilities Directorate, applying sound judgement to resolve complex issues, determine appropriate escalation pathways and maintain continuity of service.

About You:
The successful candidate will possess:
* Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration or a related field and/or demonstrated relevant industry experience.
* Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff with diverse and demanding responsibilities.
* Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and capability in the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and corporate computer systems.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to draft a range of correspondence such as letters, memoranda, emails, meeting agendas and minutes with a high degree of accuracy.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to liaise effectively with and provide high quality customer service to a diverse range of people in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced high-volume work environment using good time management skills and minimal direction.
