About this Position:
The Strategic Asset Engineer plays a central role in shaping Council's long‐term approach to infrastructure planning and asset performance.
Reporting to the Manager Asset Management, this position focuses on planning, data‐driven analysis and the development of coordinated works programmes that support sustainable service delivery with a focus on Council's buildings, facilities and open spaces/parks assets.
You will contribute to the development of long‐term asset management plans and forward works programmes, ensuring investment decisions are informed by lifecycle performance, level of service and value‐for‐money considerations.
The role brings together technical analysis, financial awareness and stakeholder insight to support prioritisation across a diverse asset portfolio.
Working across the organisation, you will embed strategic asset practices into planning processes, strengthen alignment between service areas and help build organisational capability in asset management.
The position also plays a key role in improving how asset data is used, translating complex information into practical recommendations that guide decision‐making.
This role suits an experienced engineer with solid analytical capability and a strategic mindset, who can connect technical asset insights with long‐term planning and deliver practical solutions that improve asset performance and sustainability.

Full time: 70 hours a fortnight
Salary: A competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant commensurate with their relevant skills and experience.
