The Role
As our Account Manager, you’ll be a key voice in bringing important stories into the national conversation. You’ll pitch daily, shape thought leadership opportunities, and help clients cut through the noise of the busy media landscape.
Responsibilities
- Pitch stories daily to national, state, and niche media.
- Work with podcasters and influencers to develop creative storytelling that feels native to their platforms and sparks genuine audience connection.
- Wrestle with complex issues to craft thought leadership for clients through op‑eds, commentary, and profiling.
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with journalists, beyond transactions.
- Collaborate with the team on campaign ideation and execution.
- Provide daily progress updates, maintain accurate Asana and Harvest records, stay aligned with timelines and track results with precision.
- Bring curiosity and fresh ideas to the table while honouring O&C;’s craft of bespoke pitching.
What We’re Looking For
- ~3 years of PR agency experience.
- A genuine interest in thought leadership and helping clients shape their voice.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Curious, culturally engaged, and media‑literate (you know what makes a story land).
- Brave enough to pick up the phone to pitch, and warm enough to build trust with journalists.
- Energised by social change, not afraid of complex issues, and respectful of the sensitivity our clients’ stories carry.
