About the Role
We are seeking a Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Darwin. This role is ideal for a practitioner who is passionate about delivering evidence-informed, person-centred Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services, with a strong focus on improving quality of life outcomes for people with disabilities.
A key focus of this role is working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, including regular travel to remote communities across the Northern Territory to ensure meaningful engagement with participants, families and support networks.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct functional behaviour assessments and other relevant clinical assessments
* Develop, implement and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and related assessments
* Ensure all plans are ethical, strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive
* Provide training, coaching and support to families, support workers and stakeholders
* Work collaboratively with participants, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams
* Monitor and report on restrictive practices in line with NDIS requirements
* Prepare high-quality reports and behaviour support documentation
* Maintain accurate case notes and clinical records
* Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development
* Travel to remote communities as required to engage directly with participants and support networks (travel allowance provided)
About You
* Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core or Proficient level under the NDIS Capability Framework)
* Experience working with complex behaviours of concern and people with psychosocial disabilities
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (highly desirable)
* Willing and able to travel regularly to remote and very remote communities
* Confident working both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
* Highly organised with strong caseload management skills and ability to meet service expectations and KPIs
* Strong written reporting and clinical documentation skills
* Highly proficient with IT systems, client management platforms and digital reporting tools
* Committed to human rights-based, inclusive and culturally safe practice
* Adaptable, proactive and open to feedback and continuous improvement
Essential Requirements
* NDIS Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner
* Qualification in Psychology, Social Work or related discipline
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Working With Children Check
* Valid Driver’s Licence
* Ability to travel to remote communities when required
