Are you a hands‑on leader with strong technical expertise in civil construction? We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to oversee and coordinate civil works for a project based on Groote Island. This role suits a proactive professional who thrives in remote project environments and is committed to delivering work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate civil construction crews (up to 10 personnel)
* Oversee daily site operations including earthworks, concrete works, drainage, and associated civil infrastructure
* Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with Australian Standards, site specifications, and project requirements
* Support with Project Managers and Department Managers to meet budgets and timelines
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow and productivity
* Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors where required
* Conduct toolbox talks, JSAs, risk assessments, and pre-start meetings
* Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements
* Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
* Identify potential issues early and implement practical solutions to prevent delays
About You:
* Proven experience supervising civil construction projects, ideally within mining or industrial environments
* Strong understanding of civil works including bulk earthworks, concrete, drainage, and infrastructure projects
* Ability to manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary workforce
* Demonstrated leadership skills with a hands-on approach
* High level of planning, time management, and organisational skills
* Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, management, and crews
* Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, etc.)
* High attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
Requirements:
* Manual Driver’s Licence (no restrictions)
* G189 & G2 Supervision Certificate (or equivalent)
* Current Provide First Aid & CPR Certificate
* Construction Induction (White Card)
* High Risk Work Licence (WP highly regarded)
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug & alcohol testing
* Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
