About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Cook to join our full-time team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a dynamic and creative work environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key functions:
* Preparing, cooking, and presenting food according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
* Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, such as grills, ovens, and deep fryers.
* Storing food under proper conditions and monitoring inventory.
* Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
* Monitoring the temperature of ovens and cooking equipment.
* Performing cleaning and sanitisation tasks in the kitchen and work areas.
* Supervising junior kitchen staff and assisting in their training.
* Receiving and checking the quality and freshness of food deliveries.
* Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen setting.
* A relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent work experience.
* A solid understanding of cooking practices, food safety, and hygiene standards.
* Proven ability to work efficiently and consistently under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* A passion for gourmet food and a keen eye for detail.
