Our client, a leading beverage manufacturer in Melbourne's northern suburbs, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role for a proactive individual who is passionate about quality and continuous improvement.
The Role
You will be a key driver in ensuring our client's products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
* Auditing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems to ensure compliance with HACCP and SQF standards.
* Training and supporting the production team on QA/QC procedures to achieve maximum productivity.
* Taking a "hands-on" approach to quality control in bottling and packaging, assisting the production team as needed.
* Managing and maintaining the laboratory, including equipment schedules and calibrations.
* Reviewing and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), providing valuable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
* Conducting regular internal audits and managing quality-related projects from start to finish.
* Collaborating with various teams across the business, including Production, Sales, and Customer Service, to ensure quality objectives are met and any issues are promptly reported.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A tertiary qualification or trade background in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in a food and beverage manufacturing QA environment.
* Proven experience in successfully implementing and maintaining HACCP and SQF standards.
* A strong technical aptitude with an understanding of production and packaging equipment.
* Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solution-focused mindset.
* Outstanding communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with diverse teams.
* A "right first time" orientation and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
