Job Title: Mental Health Therapist
This role is an exciting opportunity to work with a not-for-profit organisation delivering vital services in the community.
The Integrated Primary Mental Health Care Program is seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to provide mental health therapy to individuals with mild to moderate signs of mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Refer clients to specialist services and support groups, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support.
* Evaluate interventions and modify safety, support and recovery plans as needed, prioritising client wellbeing.
* Provide information and education to clients, carers, families and service providers, promoting mental health awareness and understanding.
* Offer quality outreach services, including individual case work, group facilitation and community events, reaching vulnerable populations.
* Arrange support for families and carers where necessary, providing holistic care and attention.
* Promote mental health services and resources for client wellbeing, empowering individuals to take control of their mental health.
* Provide low-intensity early interventions focusing on support, education and skill development, helping clients manage mental health challenges.
Selection Criteria / Qualifications:
* A minimum Diploma level in Mental Health, Community Services, Counselling or Social Work is essential for this role.
* Bachelor's degree in Counselling or Psychology or equivalent is preferred.
* 1–2 years' experience in a mental health related service is required, demonstrating expertise and passion for the field.
* Demonstrated knowledge of case management for vulnerable, disadvantaged and complex needs clients is crucial.
* Experience working with remote Aboriginal communities and their unique needs is highly valued.
* Understanding of working within a stepped care approach to mental health is essential.
* Ability to communicate and network with stakeholders, building strong relationships and partnerships.
* Computer literacy with multiple databases is a must, facilitating efficient data management and analysis.
* National Police Certificate and WA Driver's Licence are mandatory, ensuring safe and secure working practices.
* Valid Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one is required, prioritising child safety and wellbeing.
