About The Role
Reporting to the Project Director supporting multiple Melbourne based road services contracts, the primary responsibility of the Commercial Manager is to provide commercial leadership and directly manage the commercial, risk and financial administration processes for the contract whilst maintaining Ventia standards and governance requirements.
The successful applicant will also be expected to develop and mentor the operational delivery teams to improve commercial acumen and ensure that Services are delivered within time, cost and quality requirements.
This is a permanent full-time position (permanent part-time can be considered), with an attractive salary on offer.
What you'll be doing:
1. Involved in all commercial interactions between the project parties
2. Being the commercial lead on procurement, and project commercial activities
3. Management of all commercial claims and contractual matters
4. Preparation of commercial risk reviews and strategy
5. Undertaking regular detailed reviews of project performance/compliance with standard commercial and contract administration systems and processes
6. Ensuring commercial activities are executed in accordance with Ventia approvals and procedures
7. Early detection of potential commercial issues and implementing strategy to resolve them promptly and a to satisfactory outcome.
8. Increase commercial acumen and knowledge of delivery teams
9. Identify synergies across delivery teams and regions to streamline processes and delivery of services
10. Implement actions to address legal and regulatory requirements and company business standards, processes and Group policies
About You
11. Principle understanding of contract & construction law and project commercial administration systems
12. Proven track record in delivering commercial outcomes at an operational level
13. 5+ years' experience in commercial activities
14. Specific experience in PPPs, Operations and Management experienced desired
15. Qualifications in quantity surveying, law, commerce, engineering or other relevant disciplines.
