Job Title: Pathology Courier
About Us:
Laverty Pathology is a Healius Business with an expansive network of medical laboratories and patient collection centres across Australia.
We provide pathology services to hospitals, communities, and healthcare providers nationwide.
Your Role:
As a Pathology Courier, you will pick up and transport pathology samples, specimens, and clinical waste between medical centres, collection centres, nursing homes, hospitals, and veterinarian surgeries for delivery to laboratories.
You will ensure safe and efficient transportation while managing 30+ stops per day, playing a crucial role in providing quality health services to our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pick-up and delivery of pathology samples and related materials
* Liaising with Medical Practitioners and the Medical Liaison Officer regarding store orders
* Preparing and delivering reports and managing stock in the main laboratory
* Maintaining patient confidentiality and data integrity
* Following operating procedures for specimen coding and documentation
* Adhering to Policies, Work Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance protocols
About You:
* Valid open Australian driver's license with an excellent driving record
* Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent time management, handling up to 30 stops daily
* Physical ability to handle equipment weighing 10-15kg
* Ability to follow instructions and make sound decisions
* Previous courier experience is advantageous
* Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check
* Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa
